To strengthen these capabilities, ERIKS partnered with Businessgames to develop an immersive Change Management Game called ‘Manage Change’. Using a maritime setting as a powerful metaphor, participants experience how strategic decisions, collaboration and adaptability determine success.

Navigating uncertainty together

The experience begins with an inspiring introduction before teams prepare for their journey across the ocean. Working with limited information, they choose a ship, allocate their budget and plan the best route to supply remote islands with essential resources.

As the game progresses, new information changes the situation. Storms, lightning strikes, drifting ice and crew shortages force teams to reassess their plans and adjust their strategy. Every decision influences the outcome, while collaboration and clear communication become increasingly important.

Just when participants believe they have reached their destination, a final surprise transforms the challenge. A second ocean map appears, and separate teams must unite into one fleet. Success now depends on sharing information, aligning priorities and working towards a common goal.

By experiencing change instead of simply discussing it, participants develop a deeper understanding of effective change management.
