From competencies to everyday behaviour

Defining key competencies is only the first step. Real impact begins when employees understand what those competencies mean in practice and confidently apply them in their daily work. To support this ambition, UOB partnered with Businessgames to develop an engaging learning programme centred around the organisation’s key competencies. The programme combines e-learning, webinars, action learning and interactive Serious Games to create a consistent learning experience across multiple countries.

Learn by doing

Businessgames developed two customised Serious Games, each tailored to a different participant group. Throughout the programme, participants experience realistic business situations that encourage them to apply the desired behaviours in a practical setting. Rather than simply discussing the competencies, employees actively explore how they influence decision-making, collaboration and leadership. Every challenge encourages reflection, interaction and immediate application in the workplace.

Lasting impact across the organisation

The learning programme has been successfully rolled out across Asia, engaging employees in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand. By creating a shared learning experience, UOB established a consistent understanding of its key competencies across different cultures and locations.

The interactive approach helps employees recognise the value of the competencies, strengthens behavioural change and supports a culture of continuous learning throughout the organisation.
