In this engaging team-based game, each group builds a new organisation dedicated to workplace happiness. Working towards a shared goal, teams compete to create the company with the happiest employees.
Participants are divided into teams, each responsible for designing and managing their own fictional organisation. It’s up to them to build a successful business by investing in workplace happiness and collect as many smileys as possible along the way. Teams can purchase facilities in the following categories to boost employee happiness: Happy Resource Management (e.g. volunteering, giving compliments), Plant Services (green and inspiring workspaces), Vital Matters (healthy lunches, walking meetings) and Corporate Connection (team building activities, inspiring workshops).
The challenge? Teams need each other to purchase the assets, as the payment tools are distributed across all teams. Collaboration, negotiation, and strategic use of resources are key to building a truly happy organisation.
The ‘Build Your Happy Company’ Business Game is a unique blend of team building, fun, and valuable insights. Participants experience in a playful way how collaboration and connection contribute to workplace happiness. They leave with practical ideas that can be applied immediately, and with a renewed sense of connection.

The ‘Build Your Happy Company’ Business Game is developed in partnership with co-facilitator Merijn Ruis. Merijn Ruis is an upbeat speaker and applied psychologist who has spent the past ten years exploring one key question: what truly makes people happy? As an expert in workplace happiness, Merijn not only guides participants through the game, but also provides insights and awareness on how happiness at work can be achieved and sustained. He opens the session with an engaging introduction on the science behind happiness and connection, and wraps up the experience with a meaningful reflection: helping teams translate their game experience into practical actions for everyday work life.
